this won me honorable mentions in the african American contest. the funny thing about this is that 6 people won from my school and only 1 was african american *not me*

Around the fire danced the dame,
With eyes of black and lips of flame,
Clustering black locks in tight braids,
Dance African Dance
Her glance is softer than the dawn's,
She moves so graceful like a swan,
gentle black skin so soft to touch,

Feel the beating of the drum,
Dance till the rising of the sun,
When the light shall shine across the land,
And the fire dies.
