Shoulder length blonde hair whipped in the wind as the lone warrior made his way through the forest. He had heard rumors across the sea, of a kingdom reborn. Whether he believed them or not...he wasn't sure. "Almost there, you lazy bastard, keep moving." He spoke to himself, allowing a boyish grin to creep across his features. An excitement began to well up inside of him as he passed the area he stood with Gelina so many years ago. She had taught him how to harness fire, a skill that, he learned, should have come as a birthright to him. The memory was the first of many that passed through the man's mind. Next was Lady Raine. He cherished every second he had spent with her. They had a rocky friendship, but the love he had for her was greater than the realm itself. Unfortunately, for this lonely man, that love was never returned. She had made a promise to another.
After a few minutes, he shook his head, forcing himself to think of happier thoughts. Just ahead, he could see the bridge crossing the river to the fields, just in front of the castle. The last time he had been there, about three years ago, the castle was in ruins and the realm empty. This time, though, he saw life...bustling life. His smile returned as he made his way across the bridge. Tears of joy welled in his eyes as he immediately began searching for a familiar face. He saw none, but knew he would with time. His ice blue gaze shifted to the fields, where he and Anduin would spar day after day. They were the best of friends who were always in some sort of competition with the other.
A sense of peace washed over him as he wound his way up the trail, stopping just in front of the port cullis gate of the castle. There he was, garbed in black leather breeches and a white silk shirt trimmed with gold, standing in front of his new....no, OLD home. He unsheathed the blade from his back and placed the tip into the soft earth, lowering himself to one knee. Saying a small prayer and an apology to the realm itself, he pushed himself back to his feet and stared up to the castle towers. "T'is good to see you again, old friend." His gaze leveled again as he made his way towards the gate, black leather travelling boots pattered softly on the stone as he continued inside.
Drako Lathen, bodyguard of the queen, close friend to the royal family, and protector of GoldenMyst, was back home...

It had been a long night for the woman as she decided it was time to go back outside to join the world. A few injuries left her, in less then good condition to be up and about but she was the restless sort. Stepping out into the main hall of the castle sapphire blue hues looked about for a moment, seeing no one there she gave a gentle roll of her shoulders. Long curly dark brown hair fell down past her shoulders, almost as if it were flowing behind her, leaving it down rather then pinning it up as usual. Attire consisting the usual black dress. A light breath taken as she decided it was more then bright enough to make her way down the corridor towards the front entrance of the castle.
A nod was given towards the two guards at the front entrance of the castle, lifting intense sapphire blue eyes to gaze over the scenery, a light smile touching her lips. The peace and quiet was much welcomed for the morning. No attacks, no children screaming.. not even the sound of claws tapping against the floor, though she possibly blocked it all out due to the headache she held earlier in the morning.
A movement would catch her eyes as she let her eyes drift towards the gates of the castle, she had to look again as she saw a face that she could of sworn was dead. She knew more then well enough the man wouldn't remember her, but oh did she remember him! Who could forget the best friend of the man she had once been engaged to.. well.. more then once but that was another story in itself and one that Angel Rein DelaSangre would like to forget and move on with her life. She thought for a few moments, unsure if she wanted to speak. A lot had happened since he was gone..
Slowly she took a step forward, making her presence rather known, sapphire hues looking upon him once again, another smile finding her lips as she spoke softly. "Welcome home Drako. I hope ye have come home tae stay?"

He stopped in his tracks as she spoke to him. Ice blue orbs scanned over her before opening his mouth to speak. "Angel...." He spoke in a soft tone. This was the woman whom his best friend was in love with, all those years ago anyways, of course he would remember her. He shook his head from the daze and stepped forward to embrace her.
Stepping back, he smiled and spoke, "'Tis good to see you again Angel, and yes, I'm here to stay. I wasn't even sure if GoldenMyst still lived, so this is all a bit of a surprise to me." He shifted on his feet and brushed away the blonde strands that fell into his eyes. "I've been travelling here up until about two years ago, I pretty much gave up hope." He looked around to their surroundings before settling his gaze back on her. "Please tell me everybody came back? Where is Solace? Anduin? Nicho? Syn? Faust?" The names came out so quickly, even he really didn't get a chance to catch them all. He smiled weakly, eager to find out the fate of all his friends...his family. Then came the last name from his mouth, he spoke it in a hushed tone. "Raine?"
As he looked to her, his eyes pleaded for her to give him the answers he wanted, he wasn't so sure though. There was a different feeling about the Kingdom now that he had returned. Something didn't seem right.

Her name was spoken by him and it brought a brighter smile upon. Yes.. her the woman who gave his best friend two lovely children and almost a third, but that story was for another time. As he stepped forward she couldn't help but to freeze. Only if he had known how big of a crush she had held for him once upon a time.
A gentle breath would be taken as she would return the hug, making sure not to hesitate too much, she was really happy to see him once again. Intense sapphire hues lifted to look into his eyes. Watching him shift on his feet, the blonde hair that seemed to fall against his face to cover his eyes. Nodding as she listened to him speaking. Slowly taking in the names as she would wait til he was fully finished, and then giving only a soft smile. "Solace.. has nae been seen for some time." Holding back the tone of worry, after all she was the personal bodyguard of the Queen.. "Anduin is.. away at the Ivory Isles, Nicho is about somewhere.. have nae seen him in a bit. Syn.. ha.. my rider is making trouble somewhere it seems.. Faust .. nae.. Raine nor him have returned."
The pleading eyes of his were noted, but she had spoken, there wasn't much more for her to say to try and answer him. Moving her arms from around him she placed them onto his chest, she would of stepped away but he seemed to like hugging her..

Drako would never know of the crush. He didn't even know that her and Anduin were apart. All he knew was that his whole world changed when he walked out of the forest to see GoldenMyst castle erect once more. He listened to her list off the people, nodding as he heard the first few. "So the kingdom isn't as it once was then..." And then the last two names. He had been friends with Faust, and a sparring partner for a little while, but he didn't hold half the importance that Raine did.
He shook his head, visibly upset at the news that Raine hadn't returned. He had actually backed away from her a few seconds before. He wasn't being rude, just didn't want to send the wrong signals. He looked to the castle and then back to her, thinking of anything to change the subject to. "How have you been Angel? It seems that a few things have changed around here..." The dejected look was too hard to hide.

Good, a crush was a crush, some silly little thing that would never be mentioned aloud.. ever. "Nae, I think tha Kingdom is much more then what it was before." Lifting her sapphire hues to look around for a moment, a soft smile touching her lips as she couldn't help but to be proud of how far it felt like they had come!
Him taking a few steps back was more then expected as she gave him a gentle smile. Wondering if there was anything that she could do to help ease him, but then again she doubted that would happen. "I have been fine, just raising me children alone." Looking at his face she hid her own frown, she knew that it wouldn't help matters so no point in having it! Shaking her head a bit as she thought of something to change the subject. "Ah, tell me where ye have traveled tae?" It's not like he could disappear for years, he had to have gone somewhere..?
