All he could do was smile. She had accepted. He had heard stories of swords that came close to the blade he carries but none as powerful. He could always talk to Hephestus or Vulcan, they would help him.
"Hopefully you'll believe me Raine one day." He felt odd being unarmed. He remembered Kyl'Vesen, his first magical sword of great power and he tried to recall who made it for him.
Outside Lai stopped climbing a moment, her fathers power had dropped dramatically. He was alive and after a few moments she knew he wasn't in strife so what? Well he could handle himself or she hoped he could and she grabbed Hazen's ankle. "HA, got ya!"

Hazen screeched, then howled with laughter, wiggling his ankle to get it away from Lai. "No fair!"
Raine walked the short distance to the door of her tower, motioning with her head for Ryu to follow her. She needed to find some place to keep Ezrebrum. Who knows who'd get the wrong opinion if Raine walked the castle with a naked blade.
The tower was well furnished inside, the front room having two wide windows with cushioned sills for watching outside, a large decorative rug, a table, a couch, and two armchairs. There was a doorway to the left and another to the right, the right being Raine's chambers and the left the larger room for the children to sleep and play.
She held the door for him, contemplating what she could do with the sword.

He would enter, his sapphire hues gazing around her room and he simply smirked to himself.
Outside Lai laughed at her brother. "Whats not fair? I found you fair and square."

"Who told you I was up here!?" He wasn't angry. He thought it was really funny, actually, still believing that she really didn't see him up there the first time.
"Uh...Have a seat." She motioned to the couch, shifting Ezrebrum to her other hand. She still didn't know what to do with it.

He would take his seat looking to the floor, his face giving away no emotion now, lost in thought.
Lai just luahged and tugged on his foot. "Now you have to find me."

First off, she'd have to find a sheath for the blade. Maybe even use it. It was, afterall, a blade of legends, and should be properly respected.
Raine, too, didn't know what to think. Her face gave away no emotions, but her eyes were strange. Everything was strange. Him, her, the children, the tower, the sword, the power. She didn't know what to make of recent events.
Perhaps if she had Ezrebrum, then she could avenge Drako's dea-- 'Stop it, Raine Kinsei, you're being foolish'. She mentally chided herself for allowing herself to think so stupidly.
Moving almost mechanically, the Duchess of GoldenMyst walked into her room and placed Ezrebrum on a lone shelf under a painting she'd done at the Alexander Estate. It would be safe there for now, until she could figure out what she felt about it.
Now what to do about the guest. She leaned on the door, which she'd closed behind her when she went in, and tapped her index finger on her forehead. 'Offer him tea? Wine? No, not wine, wine is bad. Klah? Oh why are you so stupid?!'
She whacked her palm off her forehead. Giving up the argument with her mind, she straightened her hair, straightened her dress, routinely checked her reflection in the mirror, and walked out of the room with confidence, sitting in an armchair opposite Ryu.
Now the next problem. What to say?
Why was it that Ryu made her so...nervous? There was nothing to be nervous about! It was Ryu Leon Yogen, the infidel bastard turned supportive father. She did not love him. She did not love him. She did not love him.
"Are you well?" Yeah, there you go! That's a greaaaat idea, Raine. You've such a way with words.

Her first words in minutes. He grinned.
"Yes, I am. How about yourself?"
Man, he had been open with what he felt and now she went sterile, not saying anything about what he said. Why did he always say how he felt, girls never really wanted to hear it anyways.

It's not that she did not want to hear it, it was more that she did not know what to say. Actually...she didn't want to hear it. It was tearing her apart inside.
There was a whole lot that she wanted to say, but she also did not want to hurt his feelings. Perhaps she was too nice for her own good. But the concept of her having Ezrebrum was confusing her beyond reason.
'Yes, I am. How about yourself?'
"...I do not love you." There! She said it! He wanted to know what she was thinking, and there it was. Blunt, but true. Full of years of hurt.
She lowered those intense stormy eyes to the carpet, staring at her shod feet. "I do not know what I should do with the blade...You made me a ring from that blade, and you crushed it in your hand right infront of me when you told me, nine months pregnant, that you did not love me anymore."
She lifted her eyes, but they were not misted with tears. She would rise above all of the hurt he had caused her.
"What is it about me that made you come crawling back? Why not return to Desari or Tempest? What of their children? And what of Hazen?" She was on a roll now, oh boy. "What about him? You spend no time with him at all. He is so confused, Ryu! He does not know what to think of you. Archelo treated him more like a father. You've given all of your attention to Lai."

Now it all came out but as she spoke, that thin grin would cross his face. It hurt, hurt deeply, but it was the irony, so much of it hitting him at once.
"I plan on spending more time with Hazen... but I HAD to train Lai. Why you over Tempest and Desari? Because your the one I love, the one I can't get out of my head, the one I want to spend my life with."
The grin faded as he spoke, the hurt and pain of her words sinking farther in but he had to answer, he had to keep going.
"I was confused, blinded and wrong when I crushed your ring in my hand. But now there are your answers. I know you don't love me, and I know you probably never will."
He rose and turned toward the door but did not take a step, he had to stop retreating with Raine.
"And knowing that hurts, but why move on to another woman when the one I want is right here. I'll spend time with our children, and be your friend, cause you'll never trust me again, even with Ezrebrum in your power. But keep the sword..."
Now the intent of finding a equally powerful sword faded as well. Lai was coming close to rivalling him. Funny, only one person ever called him by his old name. Raine did for a while but she went right back to Ryu, a name that wasn't even his anymore, rightfully belonged to the lady he passed it too.
He stood, trying not to retreat.

"..."
Again, our fae found herself speechless.
"..."
She stared long and hard at his back. It hurt her to hurt him, but she knew very well that he deserved it. She did not deserve it, but that certainly never stopped him.
"Vincent."
She had forgotten. He had been gone for so long and she had experienced so much, that his change in name had completely slipped her mind.
"Stay. Stay here, in GoldenMyst, but not in my tower. You may enter whenever you like to see our children, but you will not sleep here. And I will never love you again."
Her voice was not cold or sad. It was not angry or broken. It was serious and honest. Motherly and womanly.
It was strong.
