Ezrebrum gleamed brightly upon its perch on the shelf, but Ryu never turned to face Raine, he knew his facial expression would only confuse her, the grin on his face looking only more erie with the slight tears in his eyes, but his voice was only a whisper.
"I am fine my sister..." Ezrebrum dulled back to normal.
Now he would begin walking toward the door but once again stopped. His hand upon it to push it open.
"Why stay in Goldenmyst, you are one of the last friends I have here. Kay... Pattrick... J... I have not felt them here since my return to what I once thought was my home. Many dislike me here, tis better for me to just leave. Be here when I can."
There was an oddness to his voice, not his strength, confidence, flare, or determination was there, and the one thing that was even more noticable was the lack of will in it, for once he felt defeated.
"I am not needed here any longer, Lai has the power to protect you now. Power that now even rivals close to mine."
With that he would walk downstairs to watch his children.

"Coward."
He was running away. He was always running away. Ryu Leon Yogen or Vincent Cambridge or whatever he called himself...always running away from Raine.
"You need to learn to live with your mistakes." She called after him as he retreated down the stairs.
Now what to do with that damned sword...She turned after a long moment and returned to her room, leaning on the far wall and staring at Ezrebrum.

She was nervous. Praying to the Gods of Nervousness seemed not to work on this special occasion, and the woman was now debating how she would present herself to Madam Raine. Would she call out to her in a shriek of excitement, “Miss Raine!” or would she present herself with the casual, low “Hello?” that most were so accustomed with? As she tread up the stairs of the Northeast Tower, stairs dusty and worn from generations of venturous, she wondered this.
Her head was low inside the dark crimson hood she wore, it’s heavy material weighing down over her eyes, but she could plainly see the irritated man storm past her, shoulder to shoulder, and something was obviously bothering him to an enormous degree. At this distance it seemed to pour off him; a hot substance. She glanced, barely, fire-lit eyes, pupil-less and wise, shimmering toward him for a brief moment before her thoughts were drawn back to the matter at hand.
Had it really been four years since she had clawed the woman’s eye from her beautiful face on in that dirty bar as she acquired her new power? Her first drink, and how did that small thought make her sick. Untamed and unconscious of her powers at the time, she was a relentless weapon, killing hundreds…piling them on the poor woman’s estate. It was a wonder that Raine hadn’t had a miscarriage at the sight. Asema could barely force a small grin upon her lips at the vague memory. How young and stupid she had been! If only she was directed to the shrine sooner…
Her head lifted barely before it planted right into the wooden door and for a moment she was grateful for natural instinct. What an interesting entrance that would have been; her means of knocking only by running into the door. As her posture straightened, she could only feel her chest tighten, the anxiety immense and she wondered even if Raine could sense that where she lay. She rose her hand, knuckles out ready for a light rapping on the door, but it fell. The phoenix considered walking away at that moment, but gaining her composure, decided it was best to knock.
She did, but lightly…

Her head snapped up. Now why was Ryu knocking? She had told him he was free to come and go as he pleased.
Angry and confused, the fae exited her chambers and crossed to the door, yanking it open. "What i-"
Her eyes widened. Could it really be...? "Asema?"
She peered at the woman under her hood, hardly able to believe her own beautiful blue eyes.

The woman could only smile the faintest thing. The feeling of having her heart appear in her throat was not a pleasing one, so she swallowed the contents of her mouth, and nodded just a bit.
“Hello, Raine.”
She had no idea how to react at this moment, standing facing the woman whom she assumed hated her for one day getting up and leaving her children alone in her estate. But instead of letting her guilt consume and eyes fall aside, she let her thin fingers slip her hood away to let the bright red bangs fall across her cheekbones, brushing her jaw. Angular behind her, her hair had been cut into a point from just below the ears inward. A thin braid fell to her hips. Where the cloak parted across her middle she wore all black, tight to her body; fitting. A small tan pouch hung across the tan belt.
Asema, caught in the moment, had hesitated. She wavered and stepped back, eyeing the woman without an idea of where to go with words. The ball was in Raine’s court, so to speak.

Raine stared at her for a long time. She was not upset or angry or scared or mad or sad or any of that crazy stuff.
"I was so worried!" She exclaimed, pulling the younger woman into an embrace.
Asema had disappeared four years ago, and when she did not return, Raine had taken her children back to GoldenMyst with her, all of this before Archelo's death.
Raine had not a single clue as to where she had gone or what she had been doing, but it was such a relief to have her friend return home.

This was not what the woman expected. Quite taken back, she only found it necessary to lay her arms around Raine’s small frame also, but this brought her solace and comfort. Her head rested upon the woman’s shoulder and her body released great grief. She had been on a long journey. She felt as if now she could relax for at least a few days.
She was glad Raine was only worried; also, for being hit was not what she needed. Although, she was still at a loss for words, and this feeling would not be tamed at present. Instead, Asema remained with her head upon the shoulder of a friend, taking slow, deep breaths through the mouth.

She pulled back, looking her over in that motherly 'Oh my gracious, are you hurt?!' way.
"Are you wounded? Are you well? Have you eaten?" She gently pulled Asema into the room, leading her to a chair. "Should I send for food?"

Food…she pondered this word, and smiled graciously, feeling stiff as she entered Raine’s quarters.
“Food would be delightful.” She felt almost rude asking. “No. I’m not wounded…”
The fire color of her eyes lit up and she examined the woman upon turning to her. Seeming to take in every little detail, she could only smile. “You’ve born more?”

She smiled warmly. "His name is Archelo."
Raine went to the door again and summoned a servant who was out in the hall. After she'd asked her to return with meals for the two of them, she joined Asema.
"So...where have you been all these years?"
