"All is fine," she said, giving a reassuring smile. Of course it was never "fine" in the life of a Cahler woman. She only hoped that in the future Avalon could escape their curse of bad luck with love.
Drako had recently made his final departure, and Raine was still struggling to get over it all. Everything bad always had to happen in such close proximity.

For a moment all was silent. Asema fidgeted, restless, but noted the woman’s composure.
“Is something else on your mind?” Her head, just a bit, canted to the left.
She gave the impression of a curious child, but just for a second before making herself seem comfortable again by crossing one leg over the other and placing her hands within her lap as if to please Raine with a certain elegance she never really had to use. She was obviously awkward acting like this. Feeling she was within this castle, with a woman who held so much power was overwhelming. Asema nearly forced herself to give off the impression of a well-mannered Priestess of the Flame, when in actuality she had never felt so ridiculous in her life; never so high strung. Before, it was wanderings in the woods and fleeing battles with drunken men, getting dirty out of an adventurous sport. Now, she felt the uncleanliness. Everyone in the castle was so proper. She felt…out of line.

"Asema, you do not have to try and impress me." She smiled knowingly, aware that such formalities were not second nature to her. Asema had all the respect she'd ever need from the Duchess as her dear friend.
The raven haired beauty couldn't help but laugh, however. "Slouch if you like. It makes no difference to me. This is just how I am." She shrugged; it was the truth.

The woman didn’t slouch, but an obvious relaxation in her could be seen. Her legs uncrossed and her whole body loosened. She smiled childishly at Raine, claw like nails tapping at the arm of the chair she sat in. Finally, after this moment of hesitated comfort, she leaned forward on the table, using her hands to hold her head and her elbows to prop her up.
“Tell me about the children…It’s been…a while sense I’ve seen them.”

"Well...Lai just returned from training with her father. He aged her so she could accept her power or something." The subject of Lai and Ryu wasn't one Raine liked to discuss. She had no say in the matter. "Hazen aged as well...that twinly bond or something. Only his isn't a mental change, so he's just...a really big six year old. Avalon is four now, and just like her father. And AJ is not even a year." She smiled warmly as she rambled off her hoard of children.

"You've been busy," Asema replied after a moment of thought. She meant no disrespect by the comment, so she smiled afterwards. "I'm sure they're gorgeous."
She didnt want to press the matters with Raine any, and so let them be. Her head turned toward the window and she stared out, watching with a distance in her eyes that became hard to read. After letting out a thoughtful, "hmm.." she turned her head back to Raine.
"Maybe you should show me around.."
