The girl was mildly impressed with his admiration for the trees, and smiled faintly. "The trees in Autumn are beautiful."

hasa-ra de si ta rit sa hui... The whispers roused the creature, the silt bottom of the great pond stirring up a cloud of mirk as the beast shifted. The stones, the stones they glowed... Desi hui ta ret fen ros. Said the darkness, the beasts great eyes glistening with the pale glow of the stones as an image formed in their shimmering center. A green and grays, water... Soundless was this vision, the threads that bound it weakened by.. something. A girl, yes.. Hui ta Hasa-ra vet de mani hmm... Hasa-ra.. demon.. yes.. a demon too, yet where.. where is the demon.. The girl seemed to be interacting with something. A burst of flame, consuming what might have been a form. The deceased, we cannot see the already gone. Hmm.. yes.. yes.. but what is in this space.. The beast took its long taloned fingers and carresed a blurry spot of gray. Hmm.. yes yes.. Hasa-ra.. Who are you, an intruder? No no no.... Mani.. Mana, yes yes.. Yet this spell was too weak, few places in the plains held such protections, and most of those it had laid the simple works itself some time ago. So where.. yes where oh where are we.. And why do the voices haunt this image. Wait, and watch.. Yes, we will.
Kraikken, The Beast Founder of the Collegium of Mages "The sound of Walkers going to war is the roll of the thunder on the plains. Heralding the comming of a great storm."

Something was out there…
Asema turned away from the beast, eyes flickering about the large luscious fields of green grass and tall trees. The fire stirred in her; her awareness of something watching them triggering her defense. Although she was ‘on the prowl’ for this being, the flames did not yet lick across her. She did not want to rouse suspicion within the Gargoylish figure she walked with.
Feeling, after a moment of scrutinizing, that the inspecting, unknown creature was not a threat, and may not be, she turned back to the creature. “Hm…so…what do you desire to see here?”
