::After two weeks of investigating, and another of dealing with his findings. Jarek finally sends the young King Nicho of the Golden Myst his follow up report. The scroll reads upon opening... ::
Lord Nicho,
I apologize for the amount of time it took me to complete this task. But I have, indeed, completed it. Upon my arriving of the Myst Mountains several things were evident to me. Such as the complete lack of activity of the forests' animals. And the absolute audacity of the bandits that were, in fact, raiding your caravans and supply wagons.
They made themselves plainly known to me within the first week that I 'wandered' into the forest. Though dispaching of them wasn't any sort of hard job. It was their leader that caused the largest grief for me, for the woman could shoot a bow and arrow better than most Elven archers I've seen.
After a week's worth of observation and another of planning I finally had lured them into a well-planned trap. My strategy was to create an illusion of a very important supply caravan consisting of three wagons and a land barge. Complete with it's own 'small' contingent of guards.
As I predicted the bandits scouted the caravan for three days before deciding to make their move. I had set the illusion up to a camp setting, deep within the surrounding forests of the mountain. Under cover of darkness the bandits attacked the camp and were rather surprised when they found themselves being surrounded by glowing glyphs instead of the caravans and horses and people that they were planning to rob blind.
Not having the heart to kill these murdering bastards myself. I have left them in that very same spot. Surrounded by the Binding Glyphs that will only power down when a considerable amount (About 15-20) of your soldiers decide they would like to 'pick them up'. There are a number of about 10 of them altogether. But if you do pick them up, instead of leaving them to starve like I would. Then I do suggest about a contingent of 20 or more guards, for these people are considerable fighters and it took me quite awhile to kill the 15 of them that I did during my first week scouting.
If my services are required again, feel free to send a courier along and we can negotiate a contract. This one was a freebie, otherwise for you I shall be a mercenery for hire. For a moderate fee of course.
Just outside your Palace you will find a small tablet of stone. Upon that stone I have set up a temporary Gate Glyph that will teleport your troops, and yourself if you deem to go, to the spot where I left the thieves. But be warned, that the teleportation is only a there-and-back set up. One time only and with that warning I also tell you to have your men ready their swords as they get there because once their presence is detected the Binding Glyphs will go down and I'm almost sure a battle will ensue.
Not that these thieves will be much of a problem since they've most likely gone for the past 4 days without food or water. All of that aside, it was a pleasure to help and call on me again any time you need.
Signed,
Jarek Aerinas Tar'ek
