Why would it matter if you were still playing Lina? I know that even now this is the prefect thread for you. Question, you said there is nothing wrong with GM. How many members can you honestly say are active and take part in the kingdom? From the gazette I see the same names and while I was in the states I always saw the same people around. Though your numbers grow, the level of activity doesn't seem to keep up. I think I know why there wouldn't be so many who actually participate, not including those who work and go out often. I think it is the leaders. Before you shoot me Shari, I know it takes a lot to keep a kingdom or guild running. In that aspect things have held together well. What I am hitting at is all these division leaders and high council members who only are out for themselves... along with just about everyone else, don't seem to care about those in their division who may be finding it hard to get in on sl's and stuff. And since I have seen that many of times I can see how it would be hard for newer members to feel accepted. These so called division leaders need to make an improvement on their division and step up to the role of a leader of a division. The roster is getting littered with the low dicers which shows lack of activity. Just doesn't look good to say we have plenty of people when quite a few are not involved in the kingdom. To make make it clear, division leaders and not serving a role in GM and should get the ax letting a better suited person take charge and hopefully make changes to their divison.

First of all, I was kidding. Jesus you need to lighten up.
As for the activity not being up to par? I agree. Hence trying to run some things to get it going again lately like the Division Wars and the Christmas Ball. I am also going to bring back spar night. I think there needs to be more adventures run too. We have plenty of DMs that can do it.
I know that there is dead weight on the roster. I complain about it all the time. There are several that don't even come online anymore. I would love to have that roster read only about 50 members. The ones that are active. As for the division leaders, I agree with you on that too. But I haven't gotten that far yet. I have only just come into my right to have a say in all this stuff. I was biding my time. I didn't want to push things after just having come up with a new charrie and her not having any say until she was queen. Now she is. Now I can do more.
I have always firmly believed that if a person is inactive for more than 30 days unless on an extended LOA for good reason, such as yourself, they need to be dropped. They can always come back later. It's not a big deal.
But that doesn't make GM a bad place. There are just some things that need to be done. We (Kyle and I) are working on it. So give us a break and let us do what we can. We can't make everyone happy, but I'm going to give it my best shot.
See, I'm not so unreasonable, am I, Brian? Heh.

Then you got me. I quit Goldenmyst because I knew I couldn't be around that much and I was falling way behind, and even now it is a bit hard. Brian knows my situation. Maybe when I move offbase or get a secound job I can join you all again, but not right now.
Secoundly, the division complaints. heh. I used to complain about that all the time. Just no one really listened to Desi. When Gelina and/or Desi was running our division it was active as hell. Oh and when River was too. Everyone was active, Nicho wasnt the only one healing... everyone in the damn castle couldn't heal themselves and well... hey! people took part in events. No, I'm not saying Cherise is a bad DC, I just wish she should force those to be active, MAKE the people active or personally request them to be taken from your division.... oh wait, doesn't that sound filmilar? hmmm... sounds like me! lol

Good point. Not supposed be healing yourself. You need a healer. I don't care if you like them or not. If you are injured and you need to be healed, let them heal you. You could do it yourself, but you won't get any points or credit for it.
I totally forgot about that point. Good one! *goes to check the rules for that one under healings on the webbie*

Wow. I certainly feel.. offended. As I've said countless and countless times over again, I understand what it's like to have a busy schedule. In between pre-AP classes, fencing for Magical Feaste, theatre, and hours of homework, I rarely even possess a social life anymore. I refuse to penalize anyone for that matter, so excuse me if you think my ideals on the subject are incorrect, but they are my own. I ask the division members kindly to keep me informed of their situation. I firmly, and I mean firmly, believe that real life comes first. If someone is having a rough time with a new job, homework, family, I do not ask for them to be excluded from the roster. To me, to do that, would be excruciatingly rude. If the event becomes such a problem that an extended LOA must be written of, then I may look into it. All I am saying is, cut me (and the other division leaders) slack. I am unable to juggle a 4.0 GPA and run adventures and SLs every night, I'm sorry. With college admissions so tight into UW-Madison, I can't afford to slack off as much as I used to (heh heh). I attempt to be as active as I possibly can. I post on the boards, keep updated with the gazette, and read the roster. And that is all that I ask of the healers. If such harsh penalties struck the roster (as much as most of you would enjoy), I would have been exempt months ago. To me, that seems an unfair situation to choose between my career and an extracurricular I adore. I am always open to suggestions for the division. Please. Division leaders need constructive criticism, but they also need positive response. When is the last time anyone sent a letter to a division leader, commending them on their work? A high council member? A fellow member? So I thought. So please, if you have any suggestions, if you would love to run something, do not let me stop in your way. Members of the guild work together. It's not ultimately fair to sling the burden all on the shoulders of a select few.

Okay, looky here. How about I get to rant and rave ^_^ Maybe not. I think that yes, a see a lot of low dice on the roster, but I don't ask. It's really none of my business. I wish there would be more active people. Some more people I can spar with and get to know. Everyone (that rps with me) knows my charrie, she's outgoing, she loyal and she's friendly. I like to meet new muns too. Maybe that's a bit weird but that's how I do things. I can't RP with a mun that I don't get along with, it's just really odd for me. Oh.. and another thing, as for low dice, if you saw my dice, they didn't move for about 2 1/2 months o.o; Which is my personal business in truth, but also my char. Angel was preggo (that big fat whale hehe). She was grounded, she wasn't allowed to do anything, it was pretty bad -fake sniffle- But in all yes.. some of the muns have very active lives, and we have things we need to do. My GPA is at a 3.6 now, that's not what my mother expects so I've been off trying to study for something I know I'll fail. Well I got to go.
Love, Ashy ^^

IRL comes first, I know this...I'm in the Military. so is Brian, we know this probally alot more then any college student or civilian. They say jump we ask how how...even after a hissy fit. They can call us in anytime, even make us work 16 hours a day if they want.
As for divisions, I would love to help, but is a bit hard when you have aim, but no AOL right now. Also, Kyle, can you PM me on this thing I have a question for you and a few ideas for the board. I may not be in GM right now but I'm sure I can help out on here! ::grins:: But lright its quitting time for me! love ya all!
Oh! Cherise-mun... I never meant for you to think I'm telling you that you are a bad DC, i didn't say that... Just saying get the people active... that way the healers look kick ass!

Well, as high council and division leader (of the dragonriders... one is on a loa and the other... havent seen him in either gm or eotw lately... so i dont really know if it counts) I wouldn't want to kick someone out of a group because their dice don't move. Granted there are a lot of people who want to increase their dice... but I can think of some who really don't. They don't want to spar and they only go on adventures occasionally. They joined to be a part of the castle, not really for the dice. Is that wrong? No. It just means you can't judge a character's activity solely on their dice. I see quite a number of people with high dice who haven't been active since I joined.
I, however, am active. I am here as much as I can be with a real job that I hate and being part of a family which includes going to little league games when possible and etc etc. I'm also young... I go out, I live my life but I'm also quite obsessed about this place.
I'm happy with GM as it is. Dead weight on the roster? Do you know who the dead weight is, do you know the mun and what circumstances keep them from being here? I wouldn't want to see them deleted. Some of those also include people's secondary characters, which you won't see as much because the mun is focusing on someone else. I don't see what it hurts to keep them on the roster.
I'm also all for change so long as it is for the better. GM changed and it will change again, no matter how much anyone argues, because groups naturally change as people come and go. Or as the mun's who are involved change their mind on some things or mature. We have younger members, yes, but I don't know many who aren't actually fairly near my age.
For now, real life is my cousin yelling from my living room for help on her poetry project. It's late... bye!
