Rant: So, I had drama practice last night, and I thought it was until 6. Lo and behold we stopped at 4:30, and my friend wanted me to give her a ride.
So, remembering the last time I drove off somewhere without telling my parents, and how I was severely b!tched at and what not, I decided to give home a call.
No one answers.
Frustrated, I drove nerve-wrackingly in a frickin' snowstorm to bring my friend home. I was nervous and scared because I've only had my license for a month or two.
I get home, wondering if my parents had gone out, only to find them sitting in a hot tub.
They were too irresponsible to bring out a freaking phone outside with them.
So of course, I was angry from their hypocritical actions, and instead they turn it around on me and make me look like the bad kid.
Here's a big fat middle finger to that.
If I'm missing something, someone tell me what I did wrong.

Coming from a Parent's point of view, you should have told your friend that you couldn't do it because you didn't get a hold of your parents. Yes, they should have taken a phone out to the tub with them, but it's also your responsibility to follow the rules.
Now, coming from a personal point of view? You shouldn't have been driving in a snow storm. You're parents should have come and got you and the car. You are not experienced enough to be driving in the kind of weather that has been nailing us here in the Midwest, sweetie. Simply based on your safety. *nod nod nod*
And yes, it's perfectly normal to be pissed at them. I would have been too if still at that age. But you had already gotten your ass chewed once.
It's a parent thing that you can only learn when you become one. "Do as I say, not as I do."
I know it sounds hypocritical, and I know that it's frustrating, but parents make rules for a reason. As I am sure you know that. With you being so fresh a driver, they just want to make sure that they know where you are.
(But yeah, they should have had the phone close with the storm happening while they knew you had the car.)
It can be looked at from both sides. And I know, it sucks.

Rant: Got into a car accident because the guy was an idiot. >___<
I was taking a left to pull into my friend's driveway, and this guy freaking PASSED ME ON MY LEFT WHILE I WAS TURNING.
X___X Yeah, that's smart, let's go into oncoming traffic and smack into the car that's turning.
Meh. Then the guy tried to get me not to call the police and file a report (I later found out he didn't have insurance), which so did not happen.
I'm suing him for the damages to my car, how ridiculous (they're well over a grand, meh).
Luckily, everyone was ok though. e__E

Heh... you got hit. I'm only 17, only got my license on the 12th, and I almost got into a major accident because someone was being an idiot. I was coming down and was starting to make a turn onto another street to get home when I see this other car blaze out of another block and go to zoom in front of me at like 40 mph. Now I'm usually very cautious and made sure I was COMPLETELY clear, but THIS was completely unexpected. I Slammed on the breaks and the car missed me I'd say by only inches. Of course, since he was the arsehole, I complied with the commemorative middle finger. Damn driving arseholes... I would've violated my 6 month probation and lost my license because of HIS mistake... needless to say I almost had a heart attack after the commotion died down.
