I've seen alot of good movies this summer... So I'm going to rate the movies I saw... in order of seeing them
The DaVinci Code - 6/10 I think this is one of those movies that if you read the book you will hate it... if you havent read the book then you might love it, or your friends will convince you to read the book... I never read the book, not going to... and I found the movie moderately entertaining, the dialoge didnt bore me as it did most people. However I'd take National Treasure over this a hundred times and again! This was basically a slow, not so humorous version of National Treasure.
X-Men: The Last Stand - 7/10 I highly enjoyed this movie, however... I wish Brian Singer directed it instead of going to do Superman... Superman was a flop, X3 was a success... but with Singer it would have been amazing and that saddens me. Brian Singer directing X3 = 10/10
Nacho Libre - 7.5/10 This was a bizarre though entertaining movie... Jack Black is one of my favorite comedians...I think this movie really hinges on your love/hate of Jack Black.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - 8/10 Fans are split on this movie... reminiscient of the Matrix vs. Matrix 2 fan split. I loved this movie, for a pirate fantasy movie it was awesome! This movie is not supposed to be realistic... so to all my friends who didnt like it for it's fantastical fight scenes (i.e. the waterwheel scene) you watched the wrong movie!
Clerks 2 - 7/10 There are some scenes that are among the funniest I have seen all year... however... there were far too many "feel good" moments that were so unClerk-like... it shoulda stuck with the crass humor all the way through and not went over into an actual mature plot.
Talladega Nights: The Legend of Ricky Bobby - 8.5/10 Will Ferrell is the Man!! Nuff Said... ok I'll say some more... this movie was awesome!! If you like Will Ferrell and you havent seen this movie... what are you waiting for?!?!?! This guy is on fire! and while he may not have really been on fire in the movie this is yet another great comedy in a string of home runs for the babe ruth of comedy right now!
Descent - 7/10 This was a sincerely good effort at a scary movie. First off... I dont get scared at movies. So I have to view scary movies for other reasons. The cinematography was excellent for a film of this genre. Good plot set up, the creatures were genuinely creepy, plenty of gore, and if you have claustrophobia then this will certainly make you breathe a little faster. About 1/2 way through the movie I realized that this movie is not just about a group of adventurous women descending into a cave... it's about the descent of the human mind into absolute madness. If you watch the movie thinking that way... then they did a damn good job and I'd bump my rating up to 8/10.
Pulse - 8/10 Again another scary movie... I might mention that my date was so scared she left marks in my arm and hand and kept having to cover her eyes. This movie is like taking White Noise mixing it with The Others, Hackers, and Dawn of the Dead. It's a very interesting mix... and it could have been terrible. Instead I found the premise of the plot to be creeeeepy. I wont give it away but the fact that nobody is safe from this scenario, and that it had plausible groundings makes this a good movie. There are plenty of GREAT startling moments... the ones you know are coming but you STILL jump! Good use of lighting and special effects.
Snakes On A Plane - 9/10 This was the single most entertaining movie of the year. It was everything I hoped and dreamed of from the moment I heard about this film back in february. If you have no sense of humor... this will be nothing but a glorified B-Film for you. But if you appreciate making fun of character stereotypes, bad movies, gratuitous nudity, violence and profanity then this movie will complete your life. Pure Entertainment.

You know what's really interesting about the Descent? I put on an original play last year called "The Barrow", and everyone kept telling me "The Descent" ripped off my original play (the similarities between the two are STRIKING - it's almost scary lol)
I did a little research, however, and found that we both took our sources from the same person - HP Lovecraft.
So check it out, my play was made into a MOTION PICTURE guys! lol

V for Vendetta was bizarre. I don't think I liked it all that much.
