Oh gee I'm losing my touch... normally I'm on threads like this on the first page. Well, seeings as how I've missed the wave, I guess I'll just sum up a few key points that could do with some repeating. - We aren't Rhydin. We put them on our map as a friendly act of continuity repair, because visiting characters are bound to mention it anyway and this is more fun than pretending not to know it exists.
- We don't follow Rhydin rules. I must have missed the E-mail AOL sent out declaring that when you acknowledge Rhydin you accept a series of unquestionable laws. Surely such a thing would come from AOL, because no OOC group or individual has any authority to say something like this unless they own the servers.
- We'd really prefer to be left alone. A very simple point which a lot of people have trouble with. Our kingdom is not a bastion of arrogance where we flaunt our opinions in clear defiance of some established authority. Just because our rooms are located on the same list as your rooms does not mean we are camping out on your lawn and mooning your house. We simply try to have a fun RP experience with a different set of rules which we happen prefer. If you don't like them, do not play with us, because you won't have any fun.
It's really that simple. Any attempt to change the way we RP, especially while waving a banner, as I have seen too often, of "My Way is the Official RP Way", is soap box preaching. Becoming belligerent to this end is effectively an unprovoked crusade. We may not like how you RP in your own room, but we will never try to change it; we simply expect the same courtesy. |

I have a very large newsflash for you buddy - You are the type of person that I absolutly despise - no common sense enough to let a topic drop when someone has said they will take care of it - and you know something else buddy? let's examine your points. Frankly - I don't give a shit if you're Rhy'Din or not - and the fact is - that was already said. As for AOL sending out an E-mail? Newsflash bucko - AOL does not own Rhy'Din - period. The RPers who actually Role Play there do. As for the rules? Buddy - I am speaking in terms of the rules that were set down well before Rhy'Din was even an idea. Rhy'Din was not the first RP environment - so do yourself a favor - shgove it. Leave you alone? Guess what - that was an open invitation for me to find YOUR Scren Name and come after YOU. As for flag and banner waving? What do you think you just did genius? NO ONE that comes up with their own rule set has the 'right' way to RP. Period. If you follow the rules that were originally laid down - then you're following the basis of RP. Want to build on those rules or addd a few of your own? Go right the hell ahead buddy - but this business about not even using a single one of them? The sitting there and trying to bash anyone that does not agree - by stating that they are arrogant and narrow minded? Buddy - I was perfectly willing to just walk away - you brought me back. Now - 'sir' Nicho - since I have been ordered to be as polite as posible in the future - please do everyone a favor - lock this thread to prevent any further incidents like this one. Allright Dan - enough - you've made your point - Kolava-mun, please don't bother responding to anything Dan puts up - he does frequent a lot of Guild Message boards - and looks for people like you to give him an excuse to come back and go off again. DOn't give him the reason to.
Sir Nicho - please lock this - but let Dan's post stand. After all - this time he responded to something that he thought was directed at him.

First of all...we elected him...he's SiC of the kingdom and he has more common sense in his little finger than you do in your entire body.
I guess you missed the sarcasim in his statements. And threats will get you nowhere. Talk about a child, retaliating with threats. Nice.

Yes, there are base rules for rp. And yes, we built on them. But when you come in here slinging around crap about how we are arrogant because we don't follow RhyDin rules to a "T"...that is where we drew the line.

This is exactly my point. We make our own rules because we are the people that Role Play here.
There has never been a set of rules for RP that everyone followed.
I know this, having been role playing online since AOL1.2, back when you paid $2.95 an hour to play.
The Red Dragon Inn tried to initiate a set of rules, yet it is impossible to enforce such things, there will always be newbies, people who think they are gods or play like cartoon characters. Various guilds and then forums each solidified their own set of rules. Why do you think there are so many different forums anyway?
