The Empty Castle
Oft' times I've sat these empty halls, Staring unseeing at vine covered walls. Whether light or darkness depends on time, The schedule of the sun, the season's clime.
Why so I sit, it tis unsure, Perhaps to be, by chance, a lure, To those who hap' to wander by, Thee with vision in mind's own eye.
Sometimes the loneliness doth take it's toll, The passage of time, alone, so droll. And yet these words inspired there, To those with vision it's hoped to share.
A place of peace to all who come, Refuge from the spiteful, sick and dumb. There is no charge to those who call, The gift of friendship, payment all.
So if perchance ye wander there, And glimpse into the sorcerer's lair, Perhaps ye'll stop to say hello, Before off to other realms ye go.
