Marie had been putting the building off for a bit, she had other duties such as those back in her home village of getting the spring planting done and overseeing the few odds and ends and a marriage or three. All of which was somewhat amusing by the fact of the waddling mage.. and the fact none of her dresses seem to fit just right. ugh. barely into her fifth month and she looked like she was going to pop.
She felt like she was going to pop on some days. Martha had been plying her with sweet rolls and honeyed cakes, both of which were Marie's favorites though she was thankful to get back to GoldenMyst before they had to roll her back. Marvelous cooking and company, but now was time for work.
Marie had been going over several of the plans and redesigning a good many things about the school.. most of which wouldn't be put to use until speaking with Tempest. However first things first.. there was the buildings exterior that needed a good tending to.. a new roof, checking the foundation. She appeared on the edge of teh property just as the men Tempest had promised arrived. She offered a small smile and nod as she spoke with the man in charge and was told in polite words to get out of the way.
Marie had to laugh at that, given the fact she was more hinderence with a hammer then help. She had brought a pair of the horses from Myriel's Grove with her, stout drafthorses that were rasied around magic , so Marie would be able to work what she needed to without causing the horse's to spook.

Draven wasn't trying to be rude when he told the pregnant woman to stay out of the way. He had been given explicit instructions by his Mistress that no harm was to come to the woman she called Marie and that work was to begin as soon as planting had been done at BlackCross. Mistress Tempest had given him instructions to begin with the foundation and then move on to the walls and roof. After that his guess at what they wanted next was as good anyone else's. Another nod was given to the woman as he went back to work.
She was racing her horse this morning. She had needed to feel the fresh air whip through her knee length black hair, the sun on her pale skin. Summer was coming and she wanted the school finished before Summer Solstice. She bent low over her horses neck, her thighs gripping his flanks and one last burst of speed brought her over the hill and in view of the school. Crystal blue hues were bright and a smile could be seen. At the last moment, before she could run anyone over, she whispered in Onyx's ear and the horse began to slow down and stop near the edge of the property of the school. She closed her eyes for a moment as she ran her hand over the horse's neck, his sides heaving. Sitting up she slid from the horse and let him wonder to find little bits of grass to munch on while she observed her men. Spotting Marie, she gave a wave and walked over to her.
"Good day to you Marie. I see the men have started work."
Hands went to her hips as Draven spotted her. She gave him a stern look and a curt nod before giving her attention back to the very pregnant Mage.
"How do you fare this day?"

The small mage chuckled as she heard the thundering gallop in her direction. The small wave was offered as she shifted back to watch. Granted not much going on just yet.. but she had been keeping herself busy with providing water and such to the men while they worked.
" Good day to you Tempest.. "She offered brightly and chuckled softly. " I've been well. It seems a beautiful day for construction. What of you dear? How have you been? "She inquired as she shifted a bit and walked toward her. The small blonde looked to be smuggling basketballs or something beneath the robes.

"Oh holy god you're HUGE."
Her eyes damn near bugged out of her head as Marie walked towards her. She didn't remember Marie being that far along the last time they saw each other. It was then that the comment she made was um quite rude.
"Oh Marie well um I'm well ya know. Oh I'm well thank you and yes it is a well a nice day for construction. Pray tell me have they been behaving themselves?"
Nodding towards the men, she came to stand at Marie's side wondering if she was going to be mad at her for the very straight forward comment.

The very sudden blurting out of her size brought a warm rich laughter from her as she slid a hand down along the very rounded belly. " Yes well.. perhaps I've put on a pound or two... " She lied horribly and chuckled with a wink. She took no offense for someone stating the absolute obvious.
" Which..the men working..or the two that are vying to see which of them can actually stuff a tiny foot into my heart? "She asked all good natured. The eyes looked away from tempest for a moment then back again. If nothing else Marie was actually enjoying the pregnancy. There was no way to explain how it felt to feel life beneath her heart. To feel the move..shift.. even if at times it was painful ... it was truly an incredible feeling.
" The men have been perfect gentlemen.. no worries. I am waiting for them to finish the foundation so I can begin laying the intial warding spells. " She gave a small nod to the construction going on. " I want to make sure the prilimary spells are in place before we get too far into this. "She took in a quick breath..then rubbed a distorted spot. Twins were ... seeing how much of Momma they could bend out of shape. Naughty little buggers!

"Oh um Marie I didn't know you were having twins. I have twins at BlackCross but I don't remember being so...Um...um...glowing."
Great way to cover her being her normal self which could be quite rude sometimes. "A pound or two is not bad." She was not the best person to give advice when it came to pregnancy's. "And how are the men who are working? Glad to hear they are behaving them selves. And as for the little ones, just wait til they are fighting for room. It will make you feel like you are being trampled from the inside out."
Draven came to stand in front of them and waited until he was acknowledged. Tempest cast him a look. "Mistress the foundation is done and we are awaiting further instructions." He moved behind her as the others stepped away from the building, clasping their hands behind their backs.
Tempest nodded to him and then gave her attention back to Marie.
"What spells would you like to begin with first?"

Marie chuckled and lifted a brow. " Glowing? I look like I swallowed a pumpkin whole "She noted dryly but ah well. It was life and she was content with that. She listened and glanced down a moment. " We're getting to that point, I assure you. ANd Goddess Mood swings are positively wretched. "She stated , there was nothing in the world worse then that.. one minute happy go lucky.. the next she hated everyone and was so angry she was reduced to tears..
She had actually even gone so far as to scream at a thorn bush merely because she ran into it. Ugh.. this was lovely no?
" Protective wards should be the first.. protection against whatever damage any of us may do to the building.. as well as keeping any wayward magics contained. Then of course the usual constructs.. against storms and the rest. "She had offered the rather polite workman a gentle smile. "Oh.. something else we may wish to put into the stucture is a magical sink.. so to speak. A place for the energy that is used .. to drain, in the long run we can link it back to the core spells and use it to continuously run the rest of the spells without having to recast them. " She pointed out and looked to the building.
" And I must say.. that I am most impressed with the way you gentlemen work. Very efficent."She dipped her head in a manner of respect.

"Well um I was trying to be um well you know." Giving her a wink, she reached behind her and took Draven's hand in hers. Don't read to much into it. He was her third in command and sometime's blood donor. "I understand mood swings all though I never did have them. Hard for someone like me to have mood swings. Apparently all I know is hate and lust." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, her grip on Draven's hand was like a vice but being a good boy, he didn't even flinch.
Once more her attention was fully on Marie. "If you do the protection spells, I can work on the storm spells. Then we can work on the rest together. I want nothing to taxing for you and the babes. As for the whole sink thing, it's a good idea. We can take the draining energy, filter it and feed it back into our spells. I know of a spell that can take out non-specific magic. In other words take out the impurities." She wondered if any of her babbling made sense as she spoke.
Another squeeze of his hand at Marie's compliment and Draven let go of his Mistress', going before Marie, he went down on one knee. "Thank you Ma'am. As soon as you and Mistress Tempest are done we will begin with what ever project you deem necessary." Rising he went to join the others that circled the property.
"See Marie how helpful they can be." A small smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.

That comment of hers earned a soured expression. " Yes well whoever said that.. obviously doesn't know you at all. " She rolled her eyes and gave a nod. " No worries, the Lady won't allow me to overextend myself. " She stated she had missed completely her clenching the man's hand. If so , it simply wasn't her business. Marie had learned the hard way.. trying to help out and getting involved in other people's lives.
It simply wasn't worth the stress.
Though the petite blonde was somewhat taken back by the man taking a knee before her. The pale eyes blinked while the cheeks blushed just a little. " Ah.. thank you. " She wasn't sure what to do with that. People in her own village were all.. well rather informal about most things.
She offered a small smile and nod to the others as she waddled her way toward the building. The young woman didn't often cast spells of this sort of magitude, at least not in front of people. It was a slow process really, the first layering of wards. It would be a generalized sort of spell. One to absorb magical explosions.. implosions.. things that would simply go wrong. As the tiny woman walked the words spilled from her lips.
Her eyes however had shifted in shade, washing out from the blue to a near silver white with only the single thin blue ring around the iris as she paused at the four corners of the great building. A small hand each time touched the stonework of the building. When she had finally reached the front once more there was a strange lavender circle around the lower most portion of the buildings foundation.
She brought the hands up slowly as they wove the corners like a giant tapestry and with a slow breath to release.. the spell was complete.

“It matters not who said it. I learned long ago that some just hate because they don’t understand and others are so jealous they care not who they hurt as long as they get what they want. But Marie I thank you for being a friend.” Oh that was hard for her to get out. Not because she didn’t enjoy having Marie as a friend but because it was sometimes almost painful to be nice and second she was very guarded in who was a friend. Especially since one who claimed to be as such, stabbed her in the back. Something that would never be forgotten.
Shaking her head as if to get rid of such thoughts, she nodded to Marie. “Just be careful. I wouldn’t want to be blamed if anything happened to you or the babe’s.” She watched as Marie circled the building, stopping at each of the four corners. Magic was pulsing through the air, like someone beating a drum. She could feel the layering of the spells. When she was done, Tempest gave a short nod. Marie was very talented and Tempest was honored to be working with her.
She walked to the front of the building and sat down cross legged, her staff lying across her thighs. To be honest she didn’t need the staff but she had come to realize it gave a boost to her magic. Almost like klah gave everyone a boost to their mood. Eyes drifted shut as her left hand wrapped around the staff, the right raised, a single black tipped nail, began to trace an intricate weave of a spell. Her demon flared to life as she drew on her magic. First was the ones to protect the building and those within against storms, lighting, wind and rain. Second she drew on her deeper magic to begin the “magic sink.” The words of the spell spoken, her lips barely moving as she repeated it three times, just to be sure that what ever residual magic’s were left over would feed not only her spells but Marie’s as well. It was while she was hard at work the vision came to her. It happened sometime’s. A sign of things to come or things that may have passed. A boy on a beach morphed into a man. She knew the man. Strong and determined in his convictions. Another man stood at the edge of a lake, his body shimmering like jewels. Her brows drew together in confusion because she could not see his face. A man in a castle that no one had seen in a very long while danced in front of her closed eyes, while another stood looking down upon the rim of the world. She knew this man as well. He brought light to the darkness. Her blood began to pound in her veins, as the last of the spell was laid.
