Dear Members of GoldenMyst,
The time has come for GoldenMyst to get back on it's feet. I have sat idly by and watched it dwindle long enough. It wasn't until now that I had the strength or the time to get it back up and running again. As it stands right now, Gelina will be taking over. Not as Queen, but as Grand Duchess. Nicho and Solace have taken a Holiday with Prince Paul and Nicho left the kingdom to Gelina. Nicho mun doesn't have the time to do what needs to be done, and I hate playing Solace without him. Gelina is stronger and more respected when it comes to running the kingdom. She's done it before so it's nothing new to her. I just had to find it in me to do so.
As I was looking at the last roster that Nicho mun sent out, I noticed a lot of new names on it. Some of you I don't know. Most of you I do. Either way, I am issuing you all a challenge. The challenge is to see how many of you really want to be a part of GoldenMyst. Will you accept the challenge and earn at least 20 pts a week? Will you show up in a chat at least twice a week? Will you make the time to plan events or help out with planning one? Will you run adventures?
I know that IRL comes first. Believe me, I know that more than anyone after the last six months of my life. But if you apply and are accepted to GM, you have made a commitment. If you can not keep that commitment, then let me know and you will be dropped from the roster. If any of these challenges can't be met, you will be dropped from the roster.
Now I am not saying all this to be a dictating bitch, I am saying this because a kingdom with inactive people, is inactive. I need people in my kingdom that want to play. That want to help bring it back to it's former glory. Maybe not like the Golden Days of Paul, but glorious in it's own right.
A new roster will be following this letter shortly. It will be completely different than it has been for the last couple of years. If you feel that I have placed your character incorrectly, please email me and let me know so I can make sure you are in the division you want to be in.
Some positions will be changing, along with the division names. As far as positions go, I will be picking wisely and not based on who people are or what they mean to me. I will be choosing based on the fact of whether I can trust them to support me in my ruling, and if they are going to have the time to be active and take the responsibility of the position given to them.
Now some of you may not like the changes, but that's fine. I am not here to please everyone. I am here to save a wonderful kingdom that brought a lot of people from different places and backgrounds together and made them a family. A family that I cherish and always have. I have seen many come and go, but the ones that have remained are the ones that know what GoldenMyst is all about.
I will be implementing some new rules and ideas that I have had for a long time. Some of them I had run past Nicho mun at one time or another and he had no problem with them. But that aside, GoldenMyst is now mine to run. It's always been mine, I just never ran it solo before. So this is new for me too. The Kingdom of GoldenMyst is copyrighted to me under Shari's Sureal Realms, along with some of the characters that reside in GM. With that said, now there is no question as to whether or not I have the right to take over and run it. Not to mention I do have Nicho mun's blessing in this.
Now it's time to be blunt. Those of you that know me well, I'm sure, have been waiting for this part. There are certain things that I will not tolerate as I run the kingdom. These will be the most important rules to follow if you want to be a part of this.
1. There will be NO OOC DRAMA! I am not here to baby sit and I am not here to play referee. If you can't work out your ooc problems amongst each other in a private IM and it carries over into IC and causes drama for others that are not even involved, you will be dismissed from the kingdom. There is zero tolerance for this one. I won't have it.
2. There will be NO MODING. Just because you know something doesn't mean your character does. If you are caught moding and called on it, you will be dismissed from the kingdom.
3. If you have a complaint about someone IC, email it to me. DO NOT IM me with it. If I am going to do the best job I can in this endeavor, then I can't be in multiple IMs and do that at the same time.
4. ALL SLs must be cleared through ME. If you have valid SL and the plot of it will affect the entire kingdom and everyone in it, I MUST know about it. I can not and will not be left in the dark. I must know what's going on at all times. Otherwise, if someone comes to me about something and I don't know what's going on, I can't help them.
5. If you are NOT ACTIVE and I see that you are NOT earning any points in a fair amount of time, you will be dismissed from the kingdom. I can't have inactive people hanging on the roster and not doing anything to help the kingdom grow and flourish. However, there will be a grandfather clause for those people that have been in the kingdom for more than three years because of the hard work and participation that they have put into GM in the past. Also, using an LOA as an excuse not to be active is unacceptable unless you email me with a valid reason to put you on it. Example: Military, School, Family emergency, Working full time, Child birth, etc. Putting yourself in LOA just because you feel that you can't earn points or can't spar because your charrie "doesn't do that" are not valid reasons.
Now you all now know where I stand. I am here to rebuild, not run it into the ground. I have been told by many over the years that I could do this, that I was meant to do this. That Gelina was meant to do this. It's only taken me this long to realize that they were all right. GoldenMyst has been a big part of my life for the past five and a half years. I love it dearly and I will be putting my all into it so that all of you have a wonderful place to come and play.
If you get this letter and you decide that you do not want to be a part of GM anymore, please email me and let me know so that I can take you off the roster and the mail string so you won't be bothered. I am not here to force anyone's hand. If I see that this letter and/or the roster has been deleted by you, you will automatically be removed from the kingdom. Kingdom mail is NOT to be deleted.
Also, I will be rebuilding the GM website as time goes on. All the rules and information will be back online soon. What won't be on the website is the application to the kingdom. Once the application has been updated, only myself, the SiC, the TiC, and the Advisors will have a copy of it to hand out if they deem someone worthy of it. We will not be letting every Tom, Dick and Harry (or Jane) in the kingdom anymore. I want quality of roleplay, not quantity of roleplayers. I don't care if there is only 30 people in the kingdom. If they are active and of quality roleplay, that's fine with me.
As a result of that, the kingdom may shrink at first, but if we work hard, it will grow again. And if it doesn't and it stays on the smaller side, that's fine too. But we will be an honorable and gracious kingdom nonetheless.
If any of you have any questions about what I have just told you, please feel free to email me. If you have anything derogatory to say to me regarding this, keep it to yourself, I don't want to hear it. Why? Because regardless of what anyone says, this is how it's going to be, this is how I am going to run it, and to be blunt, if you don't like it, there's the door. Most of you that know me, know that I am capable of this. Some of you I have even talked to already. I will go ahead and assume that it will be those of you that don't know me that will walk. And that's fine. After going over the last roster, a lot of you haven't done anything since joining anyway. If any of you don't get back to me on this with your decision to stay or go within a timely manner, like two weeks or so, you will be dropped. I have to move on this and get this started. I can't wait for people while the kingdom is sinking and I am trying to pull it back out of the water.

Also, I will be contacting those of you that I have chosen for certain positions and we can discuss them then.

As ye may by now have surmised, Solace and I have taken Paul and gone on Holiday. We felt that we needed some time alone to raise the boy properly without one of us always being sequestered away from him. Please do not worry about us or try to find us. We will return on our own when we are ready.
I fear however, that this places ye in the difficult position of running GoldenMyst whilst we are gone. I know that ye have what it takes and shall do a passable job of keeping things together while we are gone. Should any severe difficulty arise that ye cannot handle alone, remember our friends and allies. We shall perhaps scry upon thee from time to time and wish ye all success and happiness.

I do so rightly hold the ability to alter the royal statement of law at any time I deem it so fit, and that it is within the best interests of the people and the Kingdom to do so. I, of sound mind and body also decree that this is my sacred charge, and that the laws written shall be observed and followed as if they were the hallowed words of the gods themselves.
