Outside on his doorstep, he would find a single scroll with a black and red ribbon wrapped around it. It was probably nothing he expected, then again, maybe he did. Attached to the ribbon was small note in Gelina's handwriting.
"Caelum, please sign this."

CaelumLupus: Caelum read the scroll and sighed... well, he'd always been a pretty shitty husband. He walked inside and looked around for some ink and a quill. Setting the scroll down he signed his name. Rolling it back up he grabbed his cloak and his sword, tucking the scroll into his cloak we stepped out into the night, a few moments later he rode into the forest on Arturius following his nose.
Celtic Sanctum: It wasn't something she'd wanted to do, it was something she had to do. There was no hope for that marriage and she had finally come to realize it not long ago. Soon after she saw him last, actually. In a way it broke her heart, for she would always love him, but it just wasn't meant to be.
CaelumLupus: He followed his nose and led his horse in her direction... Thousands of thoughts, memories: good & bad running through his head. It was a crisp winter night, no clouds overhead, the sky was lit up by millions of stars and a nearly full moon. He was a bit surprised by her request... in fact he didn't know she still used his name... he'd thought she'd given that up long ago. God he was feeling old tonight... he always did this time of year, it was this very week that he died those year ago.
Celtic Sanctum: Once out of the castle and in the stables, she saddles her horse and leads him outside wrapping her cloak tighter around her shoulders before mounting Shadow. Gloved hand takes up the reins and boots kick him into a canter out the front gates. She could feel something stirring in the air and she let it lead her north toward GoldenMyst.
CaelumLupus: He'd came out the mountain pass and into the northern plains of GoldenMyst... at least that's what it used to be called, he had no idea who claimed the land now, or what they called this soil that was enriched with his blood, and that of so many of his friends, and loved ones. He rode towards the ocean, a southwesterly course, towards the place where the old castle had once stood, glorious and mighty, a shining beacon of hope and strength to all the land... now lost beneath the waves, buried under rubble & rock. He knew she'd be there, where they'd first met so long ago.
Celtic Sanctum: When Caelum got closer to the cliffs, he would see something astounding. Something that would be hard to believe for him, but real nonetheless. It stood as tall and strong as ever. GoldenMyst Castle. And yes, that is exactly where Lina was led. She was now coming upon the main gate when a wave of knowing washes over her. Turning her head, she sees a rider and it was then that she knew exactly who it was.
CaelumLupus: He almost fell off his horse! He pulled Arturius to a stop, standing there he shook his head, blinked his eyes a few times and then prodded the steed to continue. He could see Lina now, Arturius snorted as the came close to the gates, he hadn't smelled this place since that fated night. Caelum gave the horse a pat on the shoulder to calm him down. "Ach what a sight! I'd say I was dreaming... but when I see ye in m'dreams, the fire of your hair never quite matches how gorgeous it is in person."
Celtic Sanctum: Same old Caelum. She scoffs. "You're still dreaming about me? I doubt it." As the horses grow closer together, Shadow becomes restless, sidestepping, snorting and bobbing his head. She moves to rein him into place then looks back at Caelum. "So what brings you out here, Caelum. Did you hear about GoldenMyst? Or were you just being nostalgic?"
CaelumLupus: "Ach of course! What d'ye think old dogs dae when they lay there on the porch all day?" He winked and then looked to the castle, his voice sombered. "I was riding south tae find ye... something led me 'ere. I hadnae heard a thing about this! I keep t'm'self these days, minding m'own business, and chasing squirrels. How'd it get 'ere?"
Celtic Sanctum: "Nicho has returned. With Solace and little Paul. Nicho, Desari, Auduin and myself rose it from the sea. It was time." And it really was that simple. Looking at him, her eyes move down his form then back up again. "You say something led you here? What would that be if you didn't know about the castle?"
CaelumLupus: "The lil bugger's back eh? Maybe I shouldnae get sae close, he might throw rocks at me. Y'know... it's just a few days since the anniversary of our death match. Per'aps I should dress as a ghost and pop out from his closet!" He chuckled, obviously cracking himself up. He sighed after his laughter subsided, he looked to Lina. "I got yer scroll... figured I might as well be man enough tae bring it tae ye in person."
Celtic Sanctum: She eyes him a moment, not laughing. "If you use that canine head of yours for a moment, you would realize that it's been six years and Nicho is no longer a child but a grown man now, and Solace, a grown woman." She huffs then goes very quiet when he mentions her scroll and just stares at him for a minute before speaking again. "I see. Well, I thank you then for getting it back to me so soon."
CaelumLupus: "6 years eh? Feels longer.... maybe I should crawl back in my grave... oh wait... I ne'er had one.... t'will have tae get a shovel I guess." Clearly Caelum was spending way too much time alone at his cabin and was starting to lose it. "What was that? Oh the scroll yes... well, it's not like I had much on m'plate, so donnae think I dropped everything just tae come down 'ere."
Celtic Sanctum: "Did I say that?" Jetting out her gloved hand. "Just give me the scroll, Caelum." Her back straigtening some in the saddle as she begins to notice he wasn't quite the man she remembered. Emerald hues flash quickly then resume their natural color.
CaelumLupus: "No, I guess ye didn't say that...." He reached into his cloak, fingers touching the scroll, pulling his hand out, empty... he scratched his several days unshaven face, he caught that flash in her eyes, he flashed a quick smirk. "Sae... who's the lucky guy?"
Celtic Sanctum: She lets out a heavy sigh. "Gods, Caelum, why did I know that you would make this difficult." Shaking her head. "Not that it's any of your business, but if you must know, it's Syn." Her expression little more than stoic now, the winds picking up a bit, blowing that fiery hair across her face.
CaelumLupus: "Because ye know me better'n most..." He wasn't really expecting an answer... and when he got one it wasn't a shocking revelation, but it was sobering. Instantly his whole demeanor changed, it's true he took it for granted that Lina would always be there. "Well, he's a good guy, not the greatest of fighters, but then again... those don't really make great husbands either. I hope ye two find happiness." He reached into his cloak and produced the scroll, shifted Arturius so he was close enough to hand it to Lina. "I just want ye tae know... that I have always, and will always love ye, in m'own fucked up way. I'm sorry that I wasnae there for ye like I should 'ave been. I will always be there for ye, if there's ever a foe sae great that only an unbeatable team can face. If there was ever one thing that ye could count on, it was that, I've always had yer back in a fight and I always will. It's all I've ever been good at, that's all I got.... I'm sorry."
Celtic Sanctum: Hearing his words, her heart sank and she knew that it must have been hard for him to admit to all of that. This proud, proud man. Green eyes a bit clouded now, she slowly reaches out her hand and takes the scroll when he moves closer. She knew he meant every word of it and she knew that she could count on him no matter what. "Caelum I....thank you." Maybe some things were just better left unsaid.
CaelumLupus: He nodded, and pulled the reigns to the left starting to walk away, he turned and halted. "For the record... some things never change... but some things do... I've been... celibate for quite some time now. You probably don't believe me, but tis the truth." He glanced to the castle, then to her. "Good luck with all of this. I mean it, may this place always be the beacon of light that so many died for. I won't bleed for GoldenMyst ever again... but I would bleed, and even die.... for ye Gelina Grey. Ye know where tae find me." With that he galloped off to drink a tall glass of Metronious' ale, the good stuff he kept for special occasions.
Celtic Sanctum: Stunned by what he said, she just sat there and watched him go and it tugged at her heart. After a few moments she looks down at her hands unrolling the scroll, and there, at the bottom, was his signature. It was done. Tears weld in her eyes and one makes it down her cheek as she looks up just in time to see him dissapear into the night.
