It [glow=red,2,300]glowed[/glow] a strange red shade with its circular shape as the white marble seemed to frame the portal. Its etchings carved in an old tongue that seemed old and forgotten could be read as clear as day by the dual topaz eyes.
What was lost now be remembered, in blood and sacrifice. You who read these words shall know your fate, entwined with the patterns of destiny. By your will and by your blood this gate will close but your life will no longer be your own.
Right hand was raised as a pain could be felt by the teeth of the knife that drew her blood as she looked down below her knee deep in cystal clear water tainted by the sanguine drops. Standing there to watch as the blood splattered upon a rock, she lowered her hand to the single etching that meant fate to which a sudden shock wave exploded around her in a 10 mile radius.
She remembered Drox, the Ogre companion yelling at her, she remembered Darken's words that it would merge her and she remembered the trials she had over come to stop this war uniting lycan, human and wolves together. Then there was silence, almost queing an haunting melody in the background as clarity graced her mind and for once she knew nothing.
No pain. No fear. No emotion. Nothing.
"You have come to us, Sanguine Claws, we know you well, your fate was said in the time of your fore fathers. What is it you seek now... glory or life?"
"The endin' of this war."
"Impossible, for nothing truly ends only pauses within the circle."
"Oi want.... the demons to stop comin' through te me world."
"Do you understand what that means?"
She understood, with a shock it seemed power slammed int her taking her body to flinch back as four angelic wings ripped from her back as if forged from moonlight itself as suddenly on her body the etchings of that same gate appeared on her flesh glowing with magnitude.
Suddenly it was over, the wings gone, the markings faded as she was left on hands and knees in the water near passing out. Her eyes glanced over at the portal that should have been standing now looked like ordinary stone crumbled in a heap upon the ground and looked like it was never magical in the first place.
Drox came over, shoving others away as those large green hands lifted her from the shallows.
"Ye did it, my friend, ye have stopped the demons forever!"
She blinked, too weak to speak and tell him he was mistaken but she could only utter a whimper before blacking out in the protective grasp of her companion.
----
Topaz gaze shot open, a stinging reminder in her right hand as she lifted it up seeing a mark long since healed but still there to her eyes as she lowered it to look over at the fiery beauty at her side.
No, it wasn't over though still mortal she was not only the new Guardian of the Celestial Gate but the gate itself now. It was the only way to prevent them from coming was by creating a new gate that the demons could not find. But that never stopped them from trying to kill her. She let her wolf move over to curl around Lina as always, withdrawing from the bed even though she knew it would wake her lover and after putting on a dark green robe Riley slipped out to the gardens to sit beneath a willow tree.
