Paul = purple
Xia = blue
Katty the kitten = brown
(This is only the later part of the RP, but enough to get the flavor of it.)
Paul knew where his mother was, she was upstairs in the tower sleeping. His father was probably somewhere in the forest, but there was No Way he was going to wake up the nanny. He frowns at the ribbons for a moment. Anger, frustration, determination. The ribbons suddenly unravel as if by magic.
Katty rolls her eyes and squirms her way over clear of the children and turns into a snake and slithers her way out of the ribbons then goes back to her original form except bright metallic blue.
Surprise, delight, mystification. He claps as the kitten turns snake and back. That was a nice trick. He tries, but doesn't turn into a snake, he only succeeds in crossing his eyes.
She licks herself clean annoyed at the way her fur feels now and glares at one of the sprites debating on eating the thing whole.
Oh and incidentally, Nym might have a hard time convincing Solace of anything if Paul's hand was still blue when he was finally found. Solace was very nurturing and protective and Paul loved his mother dearly, but she certainly had a temper and was sometimes very unyielding and unreasonable. Watching the kitten, he looks at his muddy hand and tries licking it off. Yuck! It didn't taste good at all, instead, he wipes in on the grass, making a face.
She growls unhappily and starts to stalk one of the sprites with a distempered look on her face. She sits and looks at a bloated sprite thinking to her self how tasty that one might be in her morning breakfast.
Warning, danger, vengeance, and fearfulness. He calls, "No kiy ka!"
Well yes, the blue hand. Though Xia had turned enough people blue by now that Nym knew it normally wore off in at least a day and it certainly wasn't harmful. If it were, Nym would likely have been the first to notice it. "Kiy ka bad!" Xia piped up, watching the creature watch the sprites.
Katty sits and growls loudly up at the sprite and extends her claws on one paw and debates knocking the thing to its death.
One messed with the sprites to their own peril. They had been protectors of the garden for generations now and had tiny magics at their disposal. While miniscule individually, such magics combined could be deadly, or at least extremely uncomfortable.
She turns her eyes toward Paul and runs over to him and hides behind him.
Xia giggled, peeking around her new friend to spy on the hiding kitten. She wasn't sure whether to touch it or whack it, though, so she just looked at it a minute.
Does a half purr-half meow and runs off into the bushes and comes out with a strawberry in her mouth and drops it at Xia's feet.
Protective, mothering, fondness. He gathers up the kitten and snuggles, kissing it on the head. Kitty would learn, if kitty wanted to live. He smiles to Xia, wondering how he'd lived before knowing her. He begins to understand some of the emotions that he'd caught adults having towards one another.
"Sawwhewee!" no, no... that wasn't the right way of saying it, but it was close enough for her needs. She leaned forward to pick it up and then smiled, handing the little fruit out to her friend. "Paw want?" she asked, having watched her mother give food away all the time. That was what you were supposed to do with it, right?
He knew strawberries, his mother's favorite fruit. He takes it with the blue hand and plops it into his mouth. Hmmm, juicy goodness, happy thoughts.
The blue hand made her giggle, maybe because most people seemed to get so mad when they turned blue. It was such a pretty color though. She'd be completely blue, if Mommy didn't get so upset every time she started turning herself colors.
He likes the color and probably wouldn't mind if she turned his whole body blue. Then again, he liked mud too, except for the taste. He smiles to Xia and crawls towards the strawberry patch, wanting more now.
She followed less because of the strawberries, (food was supposed to come on plates and in bowls or in her mother's hand), but because she was curious about this new friend who made things feel very much one way or another but didn't seem able to tell her how. Then again, she didn't really know how she turned things blue, other than in really wanting them to be pretty.
Finding more ripe strawberries, he plops another in his mouth and offers one to Xia with a smile, juice dripping down his chin. "Stawry." Neither one noticed when the kitten wandered off.
She nodded, taking it from his hand and biting tentatively into it. Her eyes looked around a moment, making sure mommy wasn't around to fuss at her for putting something into her mouth without permission. Once that was determined as not the case, and doubting that daddy cared what she ate, she ate the rest of it. When it was safe. "Tanks yous," she said belatedly, reaching one plump little hand to turn one of the strawberries blue with a giggle, handing that one to him.
Taking it and plopping it into his mouth. Happy, warm, content, well fed. He reaches for Xia, giving her a hug, then laying down in the strawberry patch for a nap. No doubt this was where they would be found later, muddy and berry stained.
She lay down beside him with a little yawn, reaching to pet his head a minute like her mother sometimes did, stroking his hair until she fell asleep. "Ni Paw."
