So much has changed for our furry freind recently, though now as always it requires elaboration to be able to sort it all out.
Gone are the long days spent researching and questing for ways "home". At that fatefull moment last All Hallows Eve as the last Desial protoplasm evaporated, Kolava stood over the impossibly dark orb, unsure how to feel.
The stability of the rift surpassed any of the creature's expectations, and all of his emotional planning went out the window as he realised it didn't have to be a one way trip. Gradualy, during the long hours spent refining the rift to a more usable form, a new idea bubbled up from the depths of his imagination.
The dark memories he held from his life as a vagabond were far from forgotten, but even fresher in his mind was the piercing sting of wanderlust, and the planar claustrophobia he had experienced from being stuck in Rhydin so long. It was during one of his frequent walks through the myst that a moment of caffeine fueled brilliance happened. His future became clear at that moment, the details coming into focus and the emotional turbulence having been filtered out.
With stable miasmic rift, a magic castle, and many "friends", Goldenmyst was everything Kolava could ask for in a "home". He felt comfortable there, and although he still failed to fit into the Prime social mold, he was truely accepted there, a starke contrast from the "tolerance" he was offered elseware.
It is often observed that Kolava never does any work around the kingdom. Many have attributed this to laziness, and his casual mood seems to reinforce that. It couldn't however, be farther from the truth. Using Goldenmyst as a base of operations, Kolava has accomplished many important, if not obvious things. He is a vigilante of sorts, and has delivered justice to those who threaten the safety of his new home, usualy common criminals, though occationaly a threat of a more planar origin. The latter often more important, for Kolava is usualy the only to know of such threats. Ironicaly though, it is he and his craft which more often then not attract them to begin with.
His usefulness to the kingdom does not stop at mere muscle power though, and ever since Sir Nicho was kind enough to give him the old war room in the north tower to use as a lab, he has served as the kingdoms Auramancer. This service is the most enigmatic of any of this nocturnals creatures, for few know exactly what it is he is doing in that tower, and the effects are not readily apparent, with the exception of an occational shift in gravity, or a cacophony at odd hours of the night.
The more one tries to learn about Kolava, the more the mystery unravels. Unfortunitely, it seems the mystery will never be truely solved, because most atempts at researching this elusive creature end with headaches.
