Struggling to refill my lungs with air, I had begun to pick myself up from my knees, and stride forward. This battle had been raging on for days and despite all my fatuige and wounds, I kept Kendrysen moving, its sapphire blade now covered with crimson as I fought my way down the streets of Celdeciea, fires had beens started to my knowledge in both the Mages Schools and Archmage towers.
It was to late, even if we won this battle, Celdeciea would still be reduced to cinders before we could ever begin to save it. As I parried a blade from a man in the white and blue tabbard of the Mandorgan clan, a risked a glance behind me, Azmieth had apparently taken a different route after Dailos and Azure separated with their class to make haste to the plaza.
Without a second thought he pivoted, pulling his sword back from the parry and thrust it into his opponents neck, I could feel my eyes pulsate now knowing they were turning the color of radiant silver as I felt the power of Ellenvear, the Silver Dragon who had blessed my family feed me her power. It had been done, my father had fallen. I was next in line to inherit her gift, I was now the Hy'Lavarna King.
This knowledge hit me hard, now all in my family were dead except for my brother, sister and I. With no second thought I began to pull Ellenvears power, filling myself to the point of insanity, father had told me to never take more than I could handle or death would be eminent, but I cared not. I ran, my slashes precise, and my blocks making me invulnerable, it was life Ellenvear filled me with, the multiplicity of my power becoming insane. With no warning I burst into the plaza, my comrades alive and fighting.
Finally I took one more long pull from Ellenvear but then I noticed, by the Northern entrance stood my father, fighting, and quite alive. My thoughts processed so quickly, all the chosen leaders of their respective dragons stood here fighting, and then a soft female voice spoke in my head, a voice so rhapsodic it seemed to sing to me.
~Child, you have been chosen for the rapprochement of our people. My ten Dragon Princes have begun a quarrel that is tearing the dragon family apart, Dragon against Dragon, its clan against the other clans. Take my power as the All Mother of the Dracociean people and its Dragons and lead under my name, Vel'Kara.~
It hit me, I had not been bleesed by one of the Princes, I had a blessing that went above them. I found Akis of the Relcara family and used him to exemplify my new found powers to the others, manysaw the ease in which had had flown into the air to drop upon him, my slash across his upper left shoulder easily cutting down through his femur making him into two halves.
Only two fought. Dailos and his brother, Athrin. My fury grew as I knew Athrin had raped and murdered my own mother. But to my dismay, Athrin thrust his blade into Dailos. My heart fell but then in one smile Dailos counter-attacked thrusting his blade into Athrin and a loud crackle echoed in the plaze as ice began to form around Dailos's blade, extending over Athrin and even to my friend. They stood there, nothing more than an ice statue, but then to myself and some others, stood there as a symbol of our kinds idiocy.
All turned their eyes to me, and for the first time I looked down at my people. Kendrysen pulsating with Vel'Kara's power. Sapphire hues on me, diffrent color hair all over ranging from green to silver.
"My brothers and sisters, let these wrods be explict enough for you. It is done, this War shall proagate to our children, and our childrens children. We will make no more mistakes such as this. Or Vel'Kara's immense fury will be expeditious as I make examples of your heads being piked before the walls of what this town will be rebuilt to be. New Celdeciea. Home to the Mages of Lo'Cravithia, and to myself and the Hy'Lavarna family. Let humans rule humans now, and let Dracocieans rule ourselves."
My eyes looked over all of them. Azmieth's, Azure's and my father's eyes beamed with pride.
"It is over."
Shortly after, the rule of the Hy'Lavarna family was left to Azurick's, Ezrella's and Azmieth's father, Azlar. The three siblings Azurick, Azmieth and Azure soon faded into nothing but stories as they took to new names to watch their world become a harmonious place they had only read of in books before the War of Dragons 25 years ago.
