Time and weather had begun to wear upon the dull gray granite walls of the ancient temple, a temple that I swore to never visit again since the creation of Soulstealer, the one sword that cursed my existance upon this desolate earth. Only sounds reaching my ears was the autum winds blowing through the bare branched trees, their rattling, along with the snapping of my black cape behind me and the tapping of my boots upon the cobblestone walkway as I approched the isolated, unlustrious domicile of evil.
Evil. Paladin's could not even enter these wood's without the demanding need to vomit. Those with ideals of Justice and what was right who entered the surrounding aura of this ghastly, bizarre and distastful dominion of heathens usually ended up found, speaking tales of ludicrus and gruesome evil they have witnessed. Luckily for me, I was reborn from the darkness, evil was part of my soul. In essance, part of me felt at home in this unchecked insanity.
I stood before the large oaken doors, closing my eyes, sensing that proverbial bastard Chrono's somewhere within. Both arm's crossed my chest, grabbing the hilts of what seemed to be my sanity and insanity. Ezrebrum pulsed in my right hand, a warmth radiating through the right side of my body, Ezrella's voice the only thing keeping me from giving into the influence of Soulstealer which pulsated in my left hand, coldness reverbrated throughout the left side of my power. Ezrella's voice the only thing keeping me from listening to the recalcitrant influcing words of hatred of Soulstealer. Leaning over, holding both blades till the battle inside my head somewhat resided, I pushed forward with the energy within me, the oak doors creaking loudly as the rusted hinges allowed the doors to open. And with domonating prowress, I entered, brandishing both both blades, Soulstealer's dead black onyx blade seeming so dull compared to Ezrebrum's intoxicating green glow.
My eyes followed the black marble staircase up to the onyx stone alter and sacrafice pallet where to my utmost horror, Veedo lie, his dishevled blonde hair which shimmered in the sunlight much like his mothers on the warm summer days, naked and strapped down. Standing on either side of the pallet was Chronos, clad in his black velvet cloak, his own cold icy eyes gazing right into mine as that sick, twisted grin spread over those disgusting thin lips of his. God how I hated this man. Beside Chrono's though, was my wife, the woman I loved, the second woman I had given my heart too and now, she had betrayed me, clad in the same kind of cloak as Chrono's her blonde hair seeming unclean and dirty. She had dissipeared a week ago, and I came here believing she and Veedo were kipnapped, but she looked quite willing to stand there with a silver dagger pressed to our son's chest.
"Vincent... go home." Kolandra's voice was filled with hate and frustration. "I can't believe I let myself have a baby of a weak, intolerable man." That hateful countanance didn't match the lovely radiating smiles of our past together. Her words wern't those of the woman who had found me near death and nursed me back to life. Then I saw her eyes, they wern't the lovely green hue's I spent countless night's staring into. They were black. Now it was obvious, he had raped her. His one power, those he left his seed within, were under his will.
"Chronos... I will have your head for this!" Now, Soulstealer's coldness took over my whole body, my sister's words now obscure in my rage. I could feel my body change now as the Diablo, Soulstealer's spirit inhabited my mind. "Both of you shall die for this trechery." The strands of blue hair that hung in my eyes was black, and I already knew my eye's had shifted to the glowing red they had before.
"Vincent, you always were such a intolerable fool." Came Chrono's words but were nothing to me compared to his next action as he put a palm over Kolandra's hand and thrust the silver dagger into my son's chest and then he would tear him from his bonds to the pallet and toss him down the stairs, which I would run up to catch my dying son.
I could feel the tears upon my cheek's and I could feel Chrono's starting toward me offensivly and Kolandra's amused cackling. I had no control left as the last bit of life faded from my child. "Ziegfried..."
Without warning I felt all of my energy gather around me, ready to explode. And I simply let that trademark grin cross my face as I looked toward Chrono's. Looking behind him I let time soft around me appearing behind him and before responce let Soulstealer find its home in Chrono's chest and Ezrebrum's In Kolandra's throat to stop that inexcusable cackling.
Chrono had set this up to make me weak. In the end it backfired.
~Vin...Vincent~ Came Kolandra's voice through my head. ~You bastard.~ With that I flicked my wrist, twisting the blade vertically and forward severing Kolandra's spinal column. And I leaned forward over Chono who was struggling upon the onyx blade.
"No longer will I answer to the mortal name... when you return from Hades... I will kill you as the God I am... Ryu." And with that, my will to live gone, the energy collected within me erupted.
A week later I woke up with the woods around that temple. In its place was nothing but a crater marking its lack of existance. Standing, I walked away from the man I at one time was. The man who trusted, the man who loved. I became the cold, harsh man I was when I came to Goldenmyst for the first time. Life held nothing for me any longer, but now... I am beginning to relise, life might hold more for me than I let myself see.
