[Mystic Tiger]

Crystal stood there and shook her head at the child. ~Put that away before your mother comes up here and quit scaring your sister.~

She would look to Isabeau and then walked over to her and nuzzled her. ~Everything will be fine I'm sure Kahlan will appologize for the snake and causing your tutor to pass out as well. Your mother will not be pleased at all.~

She would look over to Kahlan once more to make sure the snake was put back from where it came then would send a message to Desari.

~Seems that Kahlan was bored and made a snake appear causing the tutor to pass out and Isabeau to scream.~

[Lady Desari]

She laid her head on the table and took a deep breath and counted to ten. When that did not work, she stood and walked to the stairs. Taking them one at a time, she was hoping she would be calmed down enough that she did not loose her temper. By the time she reached the solar, she was still angry and stood in the doorway. She called to one of the servants and had him take the tutor out of the room. Going to Isabeau, she gave her a hug and a kiss on the forehead. "Take your lessons to your room and when you are finished come find me."

Walking to Kendrick, she kneeled in front of him and brushed a lock of hair from his eyes. "Why don't you finish those later and go practice your sword play? I know you would rather do that. I will be along in a few to see how you are faring."

She now turned to face her last child. "Young lady I have about had enough. You will do as you are told. And right now, before I whip your arse, you are to go to your room and stay there until I can find a suitable punishment. Am I understood?"

Kahlan's bottom lip quivered a little as she nodded to Desari. "Yes momma." She stood and walked out the door and the trod of footsteps could be heard till all three were in place.

Desari glanced to Crystal and dropped to the floor. "I don't know how much longer I can do this. "

[Mystic Tiger]

Crystal laid beside Desari and nuzzled her gently like she did whenever she was upset.

~I know you are at your wits end but you've been through worse. And I just know that the right guy will come around and set the children straight and let them know who is the Boss. Not saying you haven't tried that already but sometimes the children need a "father figure" If you know what I mean.~

[LadyDesari]

"A father figure. And just who would be a father figure? I don't even know where Isabeau's father is. I have Micha to thank for that. Pattrick has nothing to do with his son and we are not even going to discuss Ryu. I just want to raise my children and pray they turn out all right. But I swear Kahlan is going to be the death of me." She reached out and stroked Crystal's head. "Just lie to me and tell me it will get easier."

Crystal closed her eyes and purred softly enjoying Desari's caress.

~Desari your children love you. It's their lot in life to drive their parents crazy until they are old enough to leave the nest , get married and have children of their own. Things will get better. Kahlan will grow out of this behavior pattern I promise. And as for Ryu you are right we will not discuss that sewage sludge of a man.~

Even she was fooled by his charm. She grew to hate that man and wished he would just disappear and never return.

[Lady Desari]

"I know they love me. I love them as well. There are just days where I think, how did I end up like this. Divorced, three children and a castle to run." She scratched Crystal's tummy. "I am just a little over whelmed today. I do have my off days you know. All right time to pull it together. I need to check on Isabeau and Kendrick. Then I need to have a talk with my youngest. Maybe she needs more advanced lessons. What do you think?"

[Mystic Tiger]

She nodded in response to Desari's words and would roll to sit up and then stood up and stretched before following her on her rounds.

[Lady Desari]

Desari stood and stretched. Walking out of the solar, she descended the stairs and walked out of the castle. Walking over to the lists, she stood for a moment and simply watched her son. He was doing well for his age. "Kendrick your doing well. Remember to keep your balance. And after noon I want you to finish your lessons. That gives you another hour to practice."

Just then Isabeau came out of the castle and tugged on Desari's shirt. Smiling, Desari sat on the ground and pulled her into her lap. Isabeau was getting a little old for it but Desari did not care.
"And are you finished with your lessons?"

"Yes momma. I want to know if I can go play in the garden."

With a nod of her head. "Aye you can and as long as you are there can you pick some mint. I need some for dessert this eve."Isabeau kissed her on the cheek and ran off. Desari looked over at Crystal.

"The moment I am dreading. I am going to go talk to Kahlan. Can you keep an eye on these two?

She would make herself comfy on the soft grass in a position that she could watch both children at once.

[Lady Desari]

She walked back into the castle and up the stairs. All the children's rooms where in the north tower. They shared a common room and three bedroom doors came off the center of the room. Opening Kahlan's door, she stood and saw her daughter standing at the window.

"Kahlan I am not sure what possessed you to pull that stunt at your lessons. Needless to say I am not happy. If your bored I can see if I can find you another tutor. Someone who can teach you advanced lessons but I can not help you if you do not tell me what your thinking. I will not read your thoughts."

Kahlan looked to her mother. Emerald hues were glistening with unshed tears.

"Momma I was bored because I knew what he was teaching. I read in the library all the time. And I want to know where my father is?"

Oh gods this was a conversation she was dreading. Vincent had showed up a month or so ago and then yet again did the thing he was most famous for. Disappearing. She walked to the window, sat upon the window seat and pulled her daughter into her lap.

"Sweeting I wish I knew where he was. Your father, unfortunately, is not one to stay in one place. The relationship I have with him is confusing to say the least. I know two things about him though. He loves you and cares about you. I wish there was more I could tell you. Please try to understand. You have a family here that loves you and will do what ever they can to make you happy."

"I know that momma but I don't know why he does not want me"

Oh gods that struck her heart and soul. Even though she was still in love with him at that moment she cursed him and simply sat there with her daughter because she did not know how to answer her.
